About the blog:

Praying for Children week has been produced by PresCare, a partnership between the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand and Presbyterian Support. Each day during Praying for Children week (Monday August 21 to Saturday August 26) the blog will offer an image, prayer and Bible verse based on the 2023 theme of the week, Growing our Children, inviting you to hold children before God in prayer.

You can sign up for a daily email which will send you the prayer for the day throughout Praying for Children week. Sign up by entering your email address in the ‘Get new content delivered directly to your inbox’ section at the bottom of this page.

Whakatō te kākano aroha i roto i o tātou taitamariki kei puawai i roto tō rātou tupuranga aranui oranga – Plant the seed of love in our children and they will blossom, grow and journey towards the greatest pathway of life

About the pages:

The page for Praying for Children (go to the Menu at the top of the page and click on Praying for Children) starts with Sunday and an outline of a worship service based on the week’s theme of Growing our Children. It has links for you to download and print bookmarks for Praying for Children week, available in several languages. It also has an image, prayer and Bible verse for each day of Praying for Children week.

The page for White Ribbon week offers PresCare’s resources to raise awareness around family violence and the often hidden harm it does in our communities. You will find resources for a service of worship, suggestions for creative and practical responses, prayers and prayerful reflection. There are links to associated organisations like Shine and Enliven, and printable resources for congregational use.
